South Florida BodyTalk Association
News and Updates from the Annual Meeting, October, 2006
|
The South Florida BodyTalk Association just held its
Annual Meeting and I wanted to share some highlights with you and how we are
building a strong BodyTalk matrix for South Florida.
These are some of the accomplishments of the SFBTA this year: We developed
values, mission and goals; policies and procedures and committee and
leadership job descriptions. Registered with the State of Florida and became
an entity with an EIN number. And opened a bank account.
Study groups from Ft. Lauderdale to So. Dade are available - from basic
Mod.1 and 2 to Advanced PaRama.
Mentorship was given for a number of students as they prepared for their CBP
exam. We now have at least 26 certified practitioners in our area and are
growing. More students were trained in the BodyTalk System than ever before.
We have 8 PaRama students, 5 of which just completed Unit Two.
This year a number of Mod 1, 2 & Access classes have been presented plus
Adv. Practicum, Mod. 3, Mod 4 & 7, Mod 6, MindScape, Family Constellations
and Free Fall as well as an anatomy and physiology course especially
designed for us to be taught by Wendy Gardner. For 2007, the
Ortho-Evaluation course, Mod. 9 and animal body talk among others will be
offered. We are continuing to find inroads to get Access out there.
5,000 post cards offering the public a 'free bodytalk session' with CBP's at
Janet Galipo's clinic not only introduced many to BodyTalk for the first
time but also gave the opportunity for bodytalkers to build up their
practices.
Public lectures and demonstrations of BodyTalk have been given. Several
articles have been published, along with radio interviews and the IBA's
promotional clip with John Veltheim and Janet Galipo profiling several of
our members and their families was filmed here in Miami and going worldwide.
Our website is up and running, while still being developed and tweaked.
Several free health clinics are in the initial stages of being developed.
One at the homeless shelter in Homestead and the other with Camillus House.
A number of meetings have been held and a Holiday Party hosted.
UPCOMING PLANS: Present a free clinic November 11 at the homeless shelter in
Homestead. We need volunteers who are willing to contribute 2 hours of their
time offering BodyTalk Access (cortices, switching, hydration, body
chemistry and muscular-skeletal reciprocals.) You don't have to be a
certified BodyTalker to help bring Access to these folks. And gather for
yourselves a great experience.
Holiday Party, December 16 at 5:00 p.m. at Janet Galipo's home. Come
celebrate, bring your sweetie, share in some great vibes! (Details will
follow closer to date.)
We will now be meeting every other month on the second Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
at Janet Parker's home beginning January 14. Our annual meeting will be in
October, 2007. Mark your calendars.
IBA Forum will be coming to Miami on April 19 to 22. John Veltheim will be
presenting a public lecture and a number of courses will be offered
simultaneously over the next four days. We will be planning a free clinic
the weekend before to get the word out.
More free clinics, a fund raising event and a possible booth at a yoga
festival in March are also in the planning stages. Along with a number of
courses which will be offered in our own backyard.
Continued work on the website and exploring the possibility of having a
professional service handle it. Any suggestions or ideas, articles and
testimonials are sought.
Come join in the excitement and the wonderful, supportive fellowship with
kindred spirits. Get involved in your association. Help us make BodyTalk a
household word. How special to do work that not only is good for business
and building your practice but is also good for the very well being of all
who share this precious planet.
